Musings From the Bottom of A Purple Paisley Teacup

Random thoughts, musings, poetry, perhaps pictures from time to time, and the occasional quote from another individual. An online peek into my mind.

Haiku3- for Mariah and Kaver

Guarding the future
Majestically keeping watch
How proud the falcon.

Flutterings

I really envy butterflies,
and their natural beauty.
Their selfish act of
pure survival and instinct.
In that they really have no
other earthly agenda but to
make more butterflies.
What wonder.
How simple.
How beautiful.
And the morning sky not far
from Biggsville suddenly
opened a huge swarm of
these unearthly creatures.
And then I tresspassed upon
their airy sanctuary and felt,
for a long second, like an
intruder in my own land.

Passion Fix

If you want it,
it's never enough.
If you stand on it,
it's a firm foundation.
If you need it,
it will elude you.
If you sit on it,
it will receive you.
If you set it free,
it will reward you.
If you lay with it,
you'll be content.
If you cast it from your life,
you will die.

Notes on the passing of Hunter S. Thompson

Often times, the manner of one's exit from this life reflects the manner of one's life.

Hearts

Shattered into a million
pieces,
swept away like old
dirt.
Thrown out like yesterday's
newspapers.
Recycled like the glass it
resembles,
to try again.

Chains

We are all free spirits
chained to each other
and ourselves.

Life

Birth
deadlines
committments
newspapers
obligations
rust
denial
choices
phone calls
bills
unresolved bullshit
taxes
strife
headaches
dreams
escape
truth
trust
love
sacrifice
happiness
euphoira
death.

Recollections

Rub the flint and steel together-let's party.
Spin some Savoy Brown
open up some ancient Heinkein (with part of the cork in the bottom of the
bottle).
Devour chocolate in layers.
What does Mozart do to
your soul?

Squalor

Green leaves
to yellow
returns to red.
Etc.
And out the
door she
goes,
into her
safety net
of urban
decay.

Haiku2

Leaves whisper gently in wind.
Grass cries underfoot.
Sparrow flies high over head.

Haiku

Much is to be learned
from a single blade of grass
growing amid rocks.

24 Hour Bugs

Swarming together in a
frenzy of
mating rituals.
The species continues for
another 24 hours.

Pedicure

Clip--- goes my toenails
across the floor---
hits the cat.
Excellent---
2 points.

Of Little Consequence

The book I was reading went
smack across the floor,
the phone rang.
Nothing I've done
matters anymore.

Here and Now

What I will do
I have already done.

Sing the Blues

I have a weakness
for men with
long hair,
who sing the blues
with their eyes.

Wall Scrawl

I'm writing madly
on the wall
of my life.

First musing

First musings tend to be a bit.....difficult, pretentious, even disturbing. My hope is that none of this is the case. Currently, I am in the process of discovering my life and what I want to do with it; or, rather, what I was really put on this lovely Earth to do. What is it I want to do when I grow up? I have trouble narrowing it down to just one thing. I want to.....Love and be loved, i want to garden and grow things, I want to explore more of God's creation. Is that asking too much? I think not!
